A Potential Trap Awaits
If you are a builder or property developer and decide to sell a property to yourself or somebody associated to you (such as a family trust) you need to be aware of a small section in the Income Tax Act. Under this section, not only will your building company pay Income Tax on the profit from the sale but when the associated party sells the property years later, they will also be subject to income tax on any profits even if the property has been used as a family home. PRICING STRATEGY TIP
How to Use Price to Boost Profits
Keep it Simple. Prices with more symbols look more expensive and complicated pricing structures turn customers off.
End with a 9. Ending the price with the number 9 conveys affordability. Try marking pricier items with numbers written in full, and discounted lines with numerals.
Use price Anchoring. Put expensive products next to even pricier options. The less expensive the item then seems like a bargain by comparison.
Offer three Options. Offer a bargain price, the price you want people to pay and a luxury price. People will gravitate to the middle option.
